Christopher Doyle specializes in entertainment transactions,
with an emphasis on drafting, review and negotiation of
agreements related to television production, and
representing clients in contract-related disputes. He also
is experienced in analyzing guild-related issues, and
representing guild signatories in labor matters. In
addition, Chris has a wide breadth of knowledge concerning
intellectual property and tort issues attendant to
television production and broadcasting.
Prior to forming Doyle & McKean, LLP, Chris served as Senior
Counsel, Legal Affairs for the Walt Disney Company, serving
both ABC and the ABC Family Channel. In this capacity he was
responsible for drafting and reviewing production and
licensing agreements, labor matters, and representing
clients in contract disputes and negotiations. During this
time he developed a niche in reality programming, overseeing
such programs as Extreme Makeover, Wife Swap, and My Life is
a Sitcom.
Before his employment at Disney, Chris worked at the Fox
Family Channel as Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs, where
he handled guild and other contract arbitrations, supervised
litigation, and prepared and negotiated a wide range of
corporate and production-related documents. Chris joined Fox
Family after working for the Screen Actors Guild as
Associate Hollywood Resident Counsel, where he represented
performers in disputes with producers. Before working at
SAG, Chris gained a |

wealth of corporate and litigation experience as Senior
Counsel for the Airlines Reporting Corporation, where he
represented participating airlines in hundreds of
arbitrations, and drafted and negotiated a wide array of
corporate and technology-related agreements.
Chris is an alumnus of the University of Maryland School of
Law, from which he graduated with Honor and achieved the Am
Jur award in Torts. He received his undergraduate bachelor
of arts degree from the College of William and Mary, with a
major in English literature. He has been admitted to
practice in California (active), Virginia, DC and Maryland
(inactive). |
